About Claude
Claude is an AI assistant built by Anthropic, an AI safety company based in San Francisco. You can think of Claude as a helpful colleague that works through writing: useful for drafting, analysing, summarising, coding, and answering questions.
What Claude does
Claude reads what you write and responds in plain language. People use it for everyday work tasks like writing emails and reports, reviewing documents, translating between languages, working through code, and thinking through decisions. It can also handle longer projects: research summaries, data analysis, document creation, and structured planning.
Claude works in most major languages, including Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish, though quality is highest in English.
The current models
Anthropic offers several versions of Claude. Claude Opus 4.7 is the most capable, suited for complex reasoning and longer projects. Claude Sonnet 4.6 balances speed and capability for everyday work. Claude Haiku 4.5 is the fastest and most affordable, made for quick tasks and high-volume use.
How to use it
The simplest way to try Claude is through the chat interface at claude.ai or the mobile app. For developers, Claude is available through an API. There are also specialised tools: Claude Code for software development, Claude in Excel for spreadsheet work, Claude in Chrome for browsing tasks, and Cowork for desktop file management.

Anthropic was founded in 2021 and focuses on building AI that is safe, honest, and genuinely useful. The company publishes research on AI safety and works under public commitments around how its models behave. Claude products do not show ads, and Anthropic has stated it does not let advertisers pay to influence Claude’s responses.
